Welcome to Pelton Fell War Memorial Park Bowling Club
Welcome to our website.
Ladies County match at Pelton Fell
Our bowls club is set in a peaceful and private War Memorial Park in Pelton Fell near Chester le Street, Durham, UK.
Please navigate our web pages to find out more about us!
The bowls pavilion is available to hire for private functions, email peltonfellbowls@gmail.com for details
Tennis Court Information The park is run by trustees (not the council).
The bowling club uses the park facilities with the agreement of the trustees. Part of that arrangement is that we take money for the use of the courts.
The trustees should arrange for the park gates to be opened each morning. However you might find that only the car park gate is opened.
The bowling club is usually open each afternoon and evening on weekdays and up to about 5pm on weekends. The bowlers usually lock the park when they finish.
All of this is voluntary and depends on people being willing to be there. As long as access to the park is available the tennis courts are available to use. We do not operate any booking system.
If there is someone at the bowls club we will request payment for the courts. If there is no one at the bowls club, just carry on. Charges are £5 per hour per court for adults and £3 for under 18’s.
Ladies Lady bowlers required to play in ladies only, and/or mixed leagues, as well as national competitions. Come along and have a go. All ages are welcome.
Pelton Fell won the NWD league cup on Sunday 5th September. Well done to everyone who took part. A great result and nice end to a good season.
We had a visitor to Pelton Fell recently. This lady plays bowls at National level. So don't give me reasons why you cannot play bowls.
If you have any questions please email peltonfellbowls@gmail.com
The park is run by volunteers. If anyone is interested and available to help opening the park gates during the summer months, then please get in touch
