Coronavirus
Updates so far as at 12th July 2021:
Most restrictions have now been lifted and from 19th July all mandatory rules are planned to be relaxed. The club would still advise members to continue to practice Social distancing and observe good hygiene practices.
The club house facilities remain restricted with mainly the toilets being available. We would recommend that changing rooms are not used or are used by no more than 4 people at a time. The old pavilion is able to be used for all of the bowling equipment. There is now no limit to the number of people playing on the green. Try to still maintain social distancing and sanitise hands and equipment. Bowls and shoes cannot be left in the clubhouse. Any non member who would like to try the game can contact Brian via peltonfellbowls@gmail.com or on 07745474117 We are always keen to have new players of all ages and abilities. Equipment and bowls can be provided. Why not give it a go, you never know, you might enjoy it.
Pelton Fell Open Pairs 2021 This event is cancelled again this year. We will keep contact details of those who have expressed an interest and contact you next season. Thank You. Contact Secretary on 0191 3664126
Pelton Fell ladies are holding a coffee morning on Tuesday 3rd March, in Chester le Street chapel. This is in aid of their nominated charity for this year which is "Heel and Toe". This is a local charity based in Pelton which provides help and support for children suffering with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities. Please come along and support this excellent cause.
Work has been ongoing for several months to obtain funding for a Defibrillator to be sited within the park. This funding is coming together nicely with donations from Persimmon Homes and Councillors Linda Marshall and Simon Henig. We will be moving towards purchase and installation of the equipment in the near future. A big "Thank You" to the people who have provided the money needed, and those members who have done all the work behind the scenes.
The outdoor season will be starting in mid April. Anyone who is interested in taking up the game either for competition, just for a bit of fun, or an excuse to get out of the house, then please either get in touch with us or come along when we are playing. Free coaching is available, and equipment can be supplied.
Boston Bowls Supplies will be at Durham indoor bowls club on Thursday 20th Feb. If you need any new kit or equipment for the start of the new season, this is your chance to get it in person.
Team fixtures for the season are available to view under the "Member Pages" tab. Please check the club notice boards periodically to learn of any changes to fixtures.
